Oral Roberts Eager To Win Before Leaving Virgin Islands
ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands — Playing the second game in as many days early in the season was already tough. Having to do it still feeling the disappointment following a crushing overtime loss was simply too much. Oral Roberts struggled all Saturday night, and Loyola took full advantage.
It wasn’t the score — a 78-53 lopsided affair inside the University of the Virgin Islands gym — that had Golden Eagles forward Emmanuel Nzekwesi frustrated. It was the lack of execution following such a strong performance against Ole Miss to open the 2016 Paradise Jam.
After posting 20 points and 14 rebounds against the Rebels, Nzekwesi tallied just three points on 1-for-9 shooting with nine rebounds against the Ramblers. Nothing seemed to go right, and now Oral Roberts will look to regroup on Sunday before playing Montana on Monday.
