ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands — Phil Martelli places the blame and points the finger only at himself. That’s just his nature. And you better believe the disappointment was difficult to cope with immediately following Sunday night’s Paradise Jam semifinal.

Naturally, Martelli was upset his Saint Joseph’s squad fell 81-68 to Ole Miss. But it wasn’t the end that bothered him as much as the means for which it got there. More specifically, he was upset the Hawks were 10-for-22 from the foul line.

With the loss, Saint Joseph’s will play in Monday night’s third-place game at the University of the Virgin Islands.
