Jeff Mittie's Postgame Speech Inside Kansas State's Locker Room
ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands — At one point, just before Kansas State took the floor, Jeff Mittie glanced over at the far wall filled with past Paradise Jam winners. The list, as impressive as it is, was going to add two more this weekend. The head coach wanted the Wildcats to be one of them. He thought they deserved it.
Mittie couldn't have been more correct.
On Saturday, K-State went out and earned the Island Division trophy to take back home to the Little Apple by knocking down UTEP, 61-40.
It wasn’t the prettiest game of the weekend. Far from it. Perhaps wins over N.C. State and LSU during the three-day event were more significant for the resume, too. Yet, it was all still sweet and very much earned.

Breanna Lewis led the Wildcats with 21 points and eight rebounds to be named to the division’s all-tournament team, while Kindred Wesemann poured in another 19 points to earn MVP honors.
The Wildcats remain unbeaten and will soon have a permanent spot on the wall Mittie envisioned to be on all along.
