Future Hawkeye Luka Garza Putting Up Monster Numbers For Maret At City Of Palms

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Luka Garza couldn’t believe it. He was not alone, either. In fact, there were many inside Suncoast Arena shocked at the call that fouled the big man out of Saturday’s game with 4:44 remaining, but there was nothing anyone could do about it.

Turns out, it didn’t matter. The 6-foot-10 center and senior leader for Maret School (DC) did enough damage while he was on the floor before his teammates closed out a 75-68 win over Sagemont School (FL) at the Culligan City Of Palms Classic.

In back-to-back games, Garza has been nothing short of dominant, showcasing his good footwork, physical play, and outside shooting touch. After posting 27 points, 14 points, and five blocks on Friday, he returned to drop 32 points, 13 rebounds, and two more blocks to advance in the tournament’s consolation bracket.

The Iowa signee keeps getting better and better, and it is showing so far in the biggest tournament of the year.
