Jefferson's Geno West Flying Under The Radar

HILLSBORO, Ore. — Geno West has been the underdog his entire life. He’s never been looked at as one of the best. So he is currently on a mission to prove everyone wrong in his final prep season.

During the Les Schwab Invitational, the 6-foot-3 guard helped his case by leading Jefferson (OR) to a fifth-place finish with a strong 80-54 win over a tough Clackamas squad. When West saw a lane, he attacked. When the Democrats needed a bucket, he got it.

West averaged 20.5 points in four games with star big man Kamaka Hepa sidelined with an injury. It was West's chance to shine, and he made it happen.

Only time will tell if the senior will get some Division I looks, but more performances like this past tournament will get him closer and closer.
