Virginia Tech Signee Nickeil Alexander-Walker Building Game For Next Level

MEMPHIS, TN — Nickeil Alexander-Walker woke up Friday morning unsure if he would play the first day of the ARS Rescue Rooter National Hoopfest. He certainly didn’t know it was going to be against East St. Louis (IL). With snow on the ground and area schools already cancelled, the schedule had to change, but the Hamilton Heights Christian (TN) guard and his teammates were ready for whatever.

Exactly how ready? No. 25 Hamilton Heights was on point, especially in the early going, and cruised to an 87-63 win at Bartlett High School.

Alexander-Walker torched the net for 22 points, including five 3-pointers and a couple highlight dunks, while backcourt mate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander poured in 30.

A Virginia Tech signee, Alexander-Walker is proving to get better and better with each outing, which is the goal as he gets his body and game ready for the next level.

There’s one more chance to stand out here this weekend, too. Hamilton Heights plays host Memphis Arlington at 6 PM on Saturday.
