No. 16 DeMatha Escapes Bishop Gorman At Spalding Hoophall Classic

SPRINGFIELD, MA — DJ Harvey wasn’t about to let No. 16 DeMatha Catholic (MD) lose Saturday. Not at the Spalding Hoophall Classic. Not against Bishop Gorman (NV). The Notre Dame bound senior guard took it upon himself to get the win.

Harvey finished with 28 points, 14 rebounds and four assists, and a strong second half gave the Stags a 73-66 win over the Gaels at Springfield College’s Blake Arena.

It didn’t come easy, however. Bishop Gorman and Flo40 guard Chuck O’Bannon didn’t go down quietly. It even had a 33-32 halftime lead. But despite O’Bannon going for 27, Harvey had an answer each time.

Mission accomplished.
