Top-Ranked Raiders Cap Off Undefeated Regular Season In Dominating Fashion

SEATTLE — The smiles inside the locker room of Roosevelt High School could have lit up the city Friday night. There was that much happiness, that much bliss, that much pleasure of the accomplishment. Undefeated, at last.
No Michael Porter Jr.? No problem. No. 1 Nathan Hale didn’t need the best high school player in America, its fearless leader, to dominate a close rival.
Flo40 junior Jontay Porter and stud sophomore guard P.J. Fuller each dropped 23 points as the Raiders cruised, 82-45, to end the regular season 20-0, while Porter Jr. sat out to gear up for the grueling playoff stretch ahead.
The packed crowd, the chants, all of that was just noise at the end of the day. Nathan Hale put all doubts of its season, and new team, to rest for the regular season.
Following a putrid 3-18 campaign in 2015-16, first-year head coach Brandon Roy has his squad rolling at the right time.
