La Lumiere School Captures Coveted DICK'S Nationals Championship Trophy

La Lumiere School: National Champions At Last

NEW YORK — The hard work in the early hours of the mornings, the sacrifices, the dedication, all of it came to fruition Saturday afternoon. It was all worth it.

Forget the heartbreak from a year ago, a painful scene of losing in this very game at the buzzer. The bounce back is what matters now. La Lumiere School (IN), the top seed, is the 2017 DICK’S Sporting Goods High School Nationals champion after tossing aside No. 3 seed Montverde Academy (FL) 70-52 at Christ The King High School.

Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 17 points. Brian Bowen added 15. Jordan Poole poured in 13, and Tyger Campbell ran the show for 10 points and seven assists to give the Lakers their first-ever national title.

RJ Barrett dropped a game-high 25 points for the runner-up Eagles.
