New Jersey Playaz Star Guard Jalen Carey Swipes Peach Jam Steals Crown

It was far from the week Jalen Carey wanted, but going winless at Peach Jam had nothing to do with how the New Jersey Playaz guard performed on both ends of the floor.

At the star-studded event at the Riverview Park Activities Center in North Augusta, South Carolina, the 6-foot-4 Carey picked up where he left off during the Nike EYBL regular season by averaging 20.2 points and turning it up on defense to average a tournament-high 2.4 steals per game.

Carey is an explosive athlete and his strong spring has garnered plenty of attention with offers from the likes of Connecticut, DePaul, Florida, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas, Miami (FL), Minnesota, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Syracuse, and Texas, among others.

Throw in the defensive tenacity shown during the first weekend of the live period, and it’s safe to say plenty more offers should be on the way.

PEACH JAM STEALS LEADERS:

Jalen Carey (New Jersey Playaz) — 2.4 spg.
Cole Anthony (PSA Cardinals) — 2.2
Leaky Black (Team CP3) — 2.2
Jamal Bieniemy (Houston Hoops) — 2.2
Jalen Hawkins (New York Lightning) — 2.2
Posh Alexander (New York Lightning) — 2.0
Will Richardson (E1T1 United) — 2.0
