Malik Newman Torches The Nets For 32 Points In KU's Italy Finale

To say Malik Newman was feeling it on Sunday might be the understatement of the summer. The Kansas sophomore guard was simply unstoppable against the Dream Team Italy All Stars.

The 6-foot-3 transfer from Mississippi State scored 25 of his game-high 32 points by halftime to help the Jayhawks put away the Italian squad 118-74 near Milan and finish their four-game tour undefeated.

Newman knocked down 13 of 17 shots, including 6 for 8 from 3-point range, while adding seven rebounds and five assists to earn game Most Valuable Player honors.

None was more impressive than the final performance as he gets set for a monster season in Lawrence, KS.
