Meet Jakov Kukic: The Next Foreign Prep Star At La Lumiere School

LA PORTE, IN — Each and every day Jakov Kukic strolls around the La Lumiere School (IN) campus is a learning experience. This is all a series of firsts since recently moving from Croatia to the United States, and the new forward is taking it in stride.
From the people to the food to the Marsch Gymnasium always available to practice, Kukic has made the most of his short time here already and is fitting in with his teammates both on and off the floor, especially with 2018 Flo40 point guard Tyger Campbell.
At 6-foot-10 with a solid frame, Kukic is a unique stretch forward with a fluid game around the perimeter in pick-and-roll or pop situations who is not afraid to battle for rebounds in the post. The 2019 prospect might not be the most athletic big man in the country, but he is an ideal and intriguing fit for a squad looking to defend its DICK’s Nationals title.

The best news is he will only get better from his first showing at the second annual La Lumiere Combine, where the likes of Creighton, DePaul, Purdue, Notre Dame, and Tennessee were all on hand to watch him play. Kukic has great upside and the potential to shoot it from the perimeter can play a huge role this season and beyond.
