Back On The Trail: Garfield Big Man J'Raan Brooks

J’Raan Brooks is not the first prospect to get back on the trail, and he might not even be the last. But the recent college basketball bribery scandal has made the 6-foot-8 forward reevaluate his commitment to USC.

The 2018 Garfield (WA) star, who committed in June, announced on Friday afternoon he will still consider the Trojans the next time around but that his recruitment is officially open.

Brooks has the game to make a nice impact for a high-major program in the years to come. He is big and physical, can finish with both hands down on the block, and has good touch with his outside shot, especially from the mid range.

USC, which was linked to the scandal when assistant coach Tony Bland was one of four coaches arrested, still holds onto commitments from Flo40 No. 30 Taeshon Cherry and Kevin Porter.
