No. 3 South Carolina Holds Off Rutgers At Gulf Coast Showcase

You can double-check with the Gamecocks on this one, but when you're the No. 3 team in the country, nothing is given, and everything is earned. South Carolina battled, and defeated a feisty Rutgers squad in the first round of the Gulf Coast Showcase by a score of 78-68.

At the end of the day, the Scarlet Knights had no answer for two-time SEC player of the year A'ja Wilson. Wilson went for a career-high 33 points, while the Gamecocks shot 64% in the fourth quarter to seal the deal.
