Jalen Suggs Is Minnesota's Next Big Prep Star

With several high-major signees and stacked teams set to make noise the rest of the season, basketball in the North Star State is some of the best it has ever been. But what happens when this stellar 2018 class graduates?

Enter 2020 Minnehaha (MN) point guard Jalen Suggs.

In many ways, the 6-foot-4 Suggs is already a star. He’s a two-sport athlete with basketball and football, already holds double-digit high-major offers, and has a big frame geared to dominate at this level and beyond.

So while Flo40 No. 5 and Duke signee Tre Jones (Apple Valley) and Minnesota signees Flo40 No. 25 Daniel Oturu (Cretin-Derham Hall) and Jarvis Omersa (Orono) get a lot of headlines for the 2017 Granite City Classic on Dec. 30 — which is streaming live on FloHoops — keep an eye on Suggs as he leads the Redhawks against Orono at 5:30 PM CT.

There is tons of talent up in Minnesota, and Suggs, a consensus top five player in his class, is definitely one of the prospects along with 2019 Flo40 No. 5 Matthew Hurt to carry on the state's tradition of big-time hoops in the years to come.
