Preview: Team USA To Battle France In Semis
United States Women's National Team Olympic semifinal against France in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
The United States Women's National Team keeps crushing the opposition and nothing seems to be slowing down this patriotic locomotive.
Team USA has faced little-to-no resistance from Olympic competition in Rio de Janeiro, including a dismantling of Group B by an average margin of victory of 40 points, and breaking the spirits of an upset-minded Japan team in the quarterfinals. Now they have a date with France at 5 p.m. Thursday.
France heads into the semifinal after defeating Canada, the only team which kept the dominant United States squad under 100 points in the 2016 Olympics. Still, and with that in mind, it should be no issue for Team USA.
The United States stellar play has been contributed from everyone on the roster. From the starters in Diana Taurasi, Tina Charles, Sue Bird, Brittney Griner, and Maya Moore, to the bench featuring Elena Delle Donne, Simone Augustus and Tamika Catchings, it has been a group effort through six games.
Additionally, with a first-half hiccup against Japan, Team USA should be focused against France. Don't expect to see the American squad making the same mistakes once again, and look for them in Sunday's Gold Medal game.
