DePaul Women's Basketball had its history-making NCAA Tournament streak snapped in 2023 when the Blue Demons went 16-17 overall and 8-12 in BIG EAST play. In a rare case, the program failed to make the NCAA Tournament.

They hope to start a new streak this season.

Women’s Basketball Hall of Famer Doug Bruno returns to the sidelines for his 38th season as the former DePaul men’s basketball player looks to return to the big dance. He guided his alma mater to 18 straight NCAA Tournaments, something only UConn, Tennessee and Stanford have done during the last 20 years.

The Blue Demons went 22-11 and 14-6 in the conference during the 2021-2022 season and earned a No.4 seed in the NCAA Tournament before losing to Dayton in the first round.

Overall, Bruno has won 774 games at DePaul and led the program to 26 NCAA Tournaments and four Sweet Sixteen’s. He is one of four active Division I head coaches with 600 or more wins.

When Is The BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Tournament?

BIG EAST Teams will compete for the automatic qualifier for the 2024 NCAA Tournament beginning March 8 in Uncasville, Conn. The BIG EAST Tournament Championship Game is March 11.

When Is The 2024 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament?

Selection Sunday is March 17, 2024 for the NCAA Women’s Tournament. The first four will tip-off on March 20, with the round of 64 beginning on March 22.
