Davenport enters the 2025–26 season looking to reset its identity under a young, evolving roster. The Panthers were picked 10th in the GLIAC preseason coaches’ poll after three consecutive sub-.500 seasons and are aiming for growth through development and energy.

Sophomore forward Dylan Smith, selected to the GLIAC Preseason Second Team, headlines the returning group. Smith averaged 9.8 points and six rebounds per game last year, ranking ninth in the conference on the boards. His efficiency inside and commitment to improvement at the free-throw line highlight his offseason work.

Davenport will lean on returning contributors such as Aidan Moon and Alden Ritt, both frontcourt options who showed flashes last year. Improved perimeter shooting, after a 31.3 percent mark in 2024–25, remains a priority.

With Smith anchoring a new-look lineup and an influx of athletic newcomers, the Panthers hope to climb back toward contention in 2025–26.
