With the 2026 Credit Union 1 CAA Women’s Basketball Championship set to tip off on March 11 at CareFirst Arena in Washington, D.C., the Coastal Athletic Association has announced its postseason awards for the 2025–26 season.

The honors recognize the league’s top performers following a regular season that featured standout individual seasons, historic milestones, and strong competition across the conference.

Voting was conducted by the league’s 13 head coaches, who were not permitted to vote for players from their own teams. Award winners will be recognized during the tournament, which runs through March 15, and will determine the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Charleston Women's Basketball Headlines the Major CAA Awards

Charleston’s standout junior guard Taryn Barbot captured CAA Player of the Year honors for the second consecutive season, further cementing her status as one of the conference’s most dominant players. After entering the season as the CAA Preseason Player of the Year, Barbot delivered one of the most complete statistical performances in the league.

She led the CAA in scoring with 19.4 points per game, while also contributing 5.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per contest. Barbot topped the 20-point mark in 15 games and earned CAA Player of the Week honors five times throughout the season. In addition to her offensive production, she made a strong impact defensively, earning selections to both the All-CAA First Team and the All-CAA Defensive Team for the second straight year.

Charleston also produced the CAA Defensive Player of the Year in forward Grace Ezebilo. The junior ranked among the nation’s top rebounders, leading the conference with 11.9 rebounds per game and ranking 34th nationally. Ezebilo was also fourth in the country in offensive rebounds at 4.7 per game, while adding 1.8 steals per contest and 6.7 points per game for the Cougars.

Leading Charleston’s success from the sideline was Robin Harmony, who was voted CAA Coach of the Year after guiding the Cougars to the CAA regular-season title and a 24–5 overall record. The championship marked the first regular-season title in the program’s Division I history. Harmony also became Charleston’s winningest head coach after recording her 119th career victory with the Cougars in the team’s regular-season finale.

CAA Women's Basketball Postseason Awards

Several other players from around the league were recognized for their standout seasons.

Towson guard India Johnston earned CAA Sixth Player of the Year honors after providing a major spark off the bench. Johnston averaged 15.8 points per game in 30 appearances, recording seven 20-point performances and a career-high 31 points against William & Mary in February. She also finished second on the team with 73 assists.

Campbell freshman Jasmine Nivar was named the CAA Rookie of the Year, becoming one of the most productive newcomers in the league. Nivar averaged 11.5 points per game while adding 4.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.8 steals per contest. She reached double figures in 19 games and earned CAA Rookie of the Week honors eight times during the season.

William & Mary guard Cassidy Geddes was honored as the CAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The finance major maintained a 3.92 GPA while averaging 13.6 points per game, earning All-CAA Second Team honors for the second straight season.

Drexel’s Grace O’Neill received the Dean Ehlers Leadership Award, which recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate excellence in leadership, academics, and athletics. A team captain since 2024, O’Neill has raised $46,000 for Special Olympics this year while maintaining a 3.89 GPA in finance. On the court, she has been one of the conference’s top playmakers, averaging 4.1 assists per game.

CAA Women's Basketball Tournament Preview

With the postseason awards announced, attention now turns to the 2026 Credit Union 1 CAA Women’s Basketball Championship, where teams will compete for the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Charleston enters the tournament as the top seed after its historic regular-season title and will be a clear contender behind the leadership of Barbot, Ezebilo, and a deep roster. However, several teams across the conference are positioned to challenge for the title.

Programs such as Drexel, Monmouth, Campbell, and N.C. A&T all feature multiple all-conference selections and have shown the ability to compete with the league’s best throughout the season. Drexel placed multiple players on the All-CAA teams, while Monmouth and Towson each boast impactful guards capable of taking over games.

With experienced veterans, emerging freshmen, and one of the conference’s most competitive fields in recent memory, the stage is set for an exciting week of basketball in Washington, D.C. As teams battle through the bracket, only one will emerge as champion and secure the CAA’s ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
