We’re less than a month away from the start of the college basketball season, and the first action of the year will see a handful of teams from the Lone Star Conference head to kickoff events in Hawaii, Washington and Wisconsin.
All three tournaments will take place Oct. 30-Nov. 1 and give the teams a chance to see places and opponents they wouldn’t normally encounter during the regular season.
Come December, the battle for this year’s conference title will begin, and Division II basketball fans will get to watch it all happen live on FloCollege and the FloSports app.

When Is The 2027 LSC Basketball Tournament?
The eight-team single-elimination Lone Star Conference Men’s Basketball Championship will take place March 2-7.
However, the action initially will include the No. 9 team in the conference for a first-round showdown with the No. 8 seed, at the home of the latter.
The winner of that game will be added to the main bracket, with the quarterfinals, semifinals and final taking place March 5-7, respectively, at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.
West Texas A&M owns the most LSC men’s basketball titles with 12, including six consecutive from 2018 through 2023. DBU’s win in 2026 was the team’s second in a row and second overall.
Once again, the LSC Tournament champion will earn the league’s automatic qualification to the 2027 Division II Men’s Basketball Championship. All selections and seeding for the national tournament will be announced March 7, and regional competition at campus sites around the country will begin March 13.
Who Makes The Division II Basketball Tournament?
Once again, 64 teams will participate in the NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Championship.
That includes 23 automatic qualifiers (conference champions/representatives) and 41 at-large bids based on regional rankings, overall records, strength of schedule and head-to-head results.
From the quarterfinals to the title tilt, the 2027 Division II Men’s Basketball Championship will unfold at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum Arena in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The quarterfinals will take place March 23, the semifinals will be March 25 and the champion will be determined March 27.
