Few men’s basketball preseason polls jumped off the screen like the CAA’s. As you no doubt know by now, half of the league’s 10 teams received at least one first-place vote in the survey of coaches and media members. 

James Madison and Hofstra were two teams traveling in different but equally urgent directions when they met twice in the final three weekends of last season. On Saturday, both teams will be looking to establish the same important momentum when the Dukes host the Pride in the CAA opener for both schools at the JMU Convocation Center.

Hofstra will head into the CAA season with some momentum after capping the non-conference portion of its schedule with double-digit wins over Princeton last Wednesday and Manhattan on Sunday.
