Porter Jr. Wins McDonald's All American MVP

CHICAGO — On a night when all of the country’s high school basketball stars were at center stage, nobody shined brighter than the No. 1 overall player. Michael Porter Jr. is the 2017 McDonald’s All American Game's Most Valuable Player.

A 6-foot-10 small forward from Nathan Hale (WA), Porter dropped 17 points on 6-for-13 shooting and added eight rebounds to help the West Boys Team edge out the East Boys Team 109-107 on Wednesday at the United Center.

The accolades and awards keep stacking up for the Missouri-bound Porter. In addition to the event’s MVP honors, he also was named the Naismith Trophy Player of the Year and Gatorade Player of the Year earlier this month.
